LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATION GUIDES:
Moelfre, Anglesey
SUMMARY:
Best at / for: Sunrise all year.
Best avoided: flat grey light.
Parking: free parking in the centre of the village.
Access: easy walking along the sea front.
Notes: quite scenic, but can get quite busy in high summer.
Details:
Moelfre is a village on the North East coast of the island of Anglesey. The coastline where the village is located faces due east, which gives a perfect viewpoint across the mainland mountains for sunrise photography.
At most other times of day it is a busy village and not ideal for landscape photography. But visiting very early in the morning will allow the photographer to enjoy some solitude.
The mountainous backdrop to the seascapes from Moelfre make for interesting sunrise compositions. The village also has a long maritime history, and lifeboat launches can offer interesting photo opportunities.
