Details:

Conwy Falls is a series of impressive cascades in the narrow gorge south of Betws-y-Coed which runs through into the famous Fairy Glen.

There is parking available at the Conwy Falls Cafe, which is also a very handy spot for coffee and snacks. And the falls are accessed through a woodland walk, which currently costs £2 at an automated turnstile gate Which also accepts wireless card payments.

The path runs through mature woodland, which in autumn offers some good photo opportunities. But the main star of the show are the falls themselves, which are viewed from above, from various vantage points where woodland growth below them has been cleared so the river is easily visible.

However, for photography purposes it should be noted that a short but difficult scramble is necessary to get down to certain parts of the river where there is room to set up below the main cascades. In particular, scrambling back up can be difficult and it’s certainly not recommended to be attempted by anybody with even minor mobility issues.
