Best avoided: during public holidays.

Parking: pay and display car park.

Access: can involve long, flat walks.

Notes: this is more about the surroundings than the lake

Details:

This lake is on the western slopes of Snowdon, with a good line of sight to the summit.

Throughout the year, the lake offers a wide variety of subjects and compositions, including narrow gauge steam trains running on the railway parallel to the lake.

There is a car park (coins needed) at the Snowdon side of the lake.  It is at the start of the Snowdon Ranger path.

It is also possible to get to the lake by the above-mentioned railway and by Sherpa buses.

Access to all parts of the lake is virtually flat.

There is a board-walk which starts from the car park and runs through a wood, giving a variety of views.
