Best at / for: Sunrise and for Autumn colours
Best avoided: Peak periods.
Parking: Paid parking at Bethania and Beddgelert; limited pull-ins on the main road.
Access: Easy walking required for best vantage points.
Notes: Try to get there early morning when the lake is still.
Details:
Llyn Dinas is a lake of some 60 acres, about 200 feet above sea level. It is north-east of Beddgelert.
There is limited parking nearby in pull-ins off the main road, care is needed. There is also paid parking at Bethania and Beddgelert. Sherpa buses run past the lake. For the more adventurous, the Welsh Highland Railway runs a limited service to Beddgelert, followed by a pleasant walk to Llyn Dinas.
There are no facilities at the lake, the nearest toilets and refreshments are in Beddgelert.
This is a beautiful location, full of photographic opportunities in all directions.
A well-maintained footpath runs down one side of Llyn Dinas, giving easy walking access to a wealth of possibilities.
