Group Workshop: Springtime On The Anglesey Coast – April 2024
£95.00 – £175.00
Saturday 13th April 2024
7 hours – from 14:00 to 21:00 (sunset 20:15 / low water 20:05)
LIMITED TO JUST 6 PARTICIPANTS
We’re visiting the iconic and epic coastal location of Llanddwyn Island, on Anglesey – a must-see for landscape photographers.
We’ll be starting late to allow for participants’ travel to the Island and so we can be shooting through sunset into blue hour.
Meeting at the main NRW car park by the beach, the island is about 45 minutes walk away and it’s very easy and flat going to reach it. Depending on the tide times we will structure the workshop to avoid getting stranded! But along the way there are countless locations in the sand dunes and the Corsican pine forest, with the backdrop of the mountains on the mainland for plenty of photography subjects. On the island itself there are of course the iconic buildings, and many sandy and rocky features to enjoy. This is a location which can present challenges, but also great rewards to the landscape photographer in any light and weather conditions. So whatever we encounter I should be able to help you come away with good images to enjoy.
Any standard of photographer is more than welcome – from a complete novice, to an expert with a large format film camera who just wants to visit some great locations! I always take time to work individually with each participant, but it’s also about meeting others and sharing ideas. These workshops are always a great day out as well as informative and educational. Aside from identifying subjects and compositions, we’ll also cover aspects of technique and exposure, use of gear and any other tips and tricks in line with what you would like to work on, and your current capabilities. So if you’re already adept with your gear, you can still enjoy the locations without “being taught how to suck eggs”. However, if you’re a complete beginner it’s a great opportunity to learn from more experienced photographers and gain lots of encouragement to improve.
I do arrange pit-stops for refreshments and toilet breaks. Just bring suitable clothing, footwear, camera gear and enthusiasm!
I always minimise the amount of walking so we have as much photography time as possible. However, do bear in mind that our location may be problematic if you have “significant” mobility issues – if you’re not sure whether it will be suitable, please contact me before booking.
Payment is required to book, and you can cancel up to 28 days beforehand for a full refund – no questions asked.
